Beth received her yoga teacher certification in 2008 from the Providence Institute in Tucson, AZ. This was the realization of a dream that she’d held since high school: to develop her self-awareness through the practice of yoga. Having studied many different styles of yoga across the country, she chose to receive her training in Classical Yoga. Classical yoga, following the teachings of the sage Krishnamacharya, is the basis for almost every genre of yoga currently practiced in the west. Beth has also completed an advanced Therapeutic Yoga Intensive with Maria Kali-Ma in 2008-2009, and has since evolved her practice through Anusara yoga at Yoga Oasis in Tucson.
Beth currently teaches group classes throughout the Tucson area, and is available for private therapy sessions at her home studio. She is particularly interested in the healing process through yoga – looking at illness and pain as opportunities for growth and a deeper understanding of oneself. Her classes focus on breath as a tool for greater self-awareness, and exploring the mind/body/breath connection through alignment techniques. Beth considers the practice of yoga asana to be an art form, just like music, and enjoys the experience of creating classes that are fluid, focused, feel-good, and fun!
Beth’s current teaching schedule:
Yoga Oasis: Tues 8:15 p.m. (yogahour) and Wed 5:30 p.m. (yogahour) ~ downtown studio. Visit yogaoasis.com for more information.
Gold’s Gym: Thurs 6:30 p.m. (All levels class) ~ Eastside location.
Beth is also available for private, therapeutic lessons. These 1 hour sessions are appropriate for people with injuries who need a sensitive, personal approach to their healing process. Yoga therapy is also beneficial for individuals looking to deepen their own practice, as well those who are new to yoga and prefer additional support and attention.
